Hi, I’m Katie!, IBCLC
Founder of The Breastfeeding Mama | Lactation Consultant | Milk Supply + Pumping Specialist
I’m a mom of three, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and the founder of The Breastfeeding Mama. My work is rooted in both professional training and personal experience—because like many of the parents I now support, my own breastfeeding journey didn’t go as planned.
After I had my second son, I struggled hard. I felt isolated, discouraged, and kept hearing the same advice: "just stop." But I couldn’t give up without a fight. I threw myself into learning everything I could about breastfeeding, not just to help myself—but to help others who felt the same way. That’s when I started my Facebook group (which grew fast!) and realized this was something I was meant to do.
Since 2015, I’ve supported thousands of families through online communities, one-on-one consults, and educational resources. I completed my lactation internship in 2022 and officially became an IBCLC in 2023.
I believe lactation care is about so much more than milk.
It’s about helping families feel seen, supported, and capable in a season that’s often messy and overwhelming. My approach is:
Root cause focused (we dig deep to find real answers)
Nonjudgmental (there’s no one right way to feed your baby)
Practical (you’re a busy parent—we make it work for real life)
My goal is always to help you feel like the hero in your own story.
While I help with just about every breastfeeding issue you can imagine, my true passion lies in supporting moms with milk supply and pumping.
I specialize in:
Flange sizing + pump troubleshooting
Low or fluctuating milk supply
Oral restrictions and post-release care
Bottle refusal + combo feeding
Mastitis and clogged ducts (from a holistic lens)
I’m constantly learning and expanding my training. Some of my certifications and continuing ed include:
Low Supply Certification for Healthcare Providers
Oral Rehabilitation for Breastfeeding Dyads
Pumping and Feeding Care for IBCLCs
The Poop Talk: Infant Gut Health (yes, really!)

Comparison is the thief of joy—especially when it comes to breastfeeding. Social media can make it feel like you’re doing everything wrong. You’re not. The best thing you can do is get support that’s specific to you.
I breastfed all three of my boys, and each journey was completely different.
I’ve been the overwhelmed new mom, the exclusive pumper, the combi-feeder, and the one navigating chaos with older siblings in tow. These experiences shape how I show up for you—with empathy, honesty, and absolutely zero judgment.
If you’re ready to stop second-guessing everything and get real, personalized support—I’d love to walk alongside you.
